In Loving Memory...
My brother, a beautiful person and soul. You always wore a big smile and walked this earth with unwavering faith, a heart devoted to God, a spirit that lifted everyone around you. You consistently put others first, joyful in service. “Just doing the Lord’s work,” you would say.
Even as children, I always knew you were special. You were radiant; your energy vibrant, and people were drawn to you, being in your presence felt good. Knowing this, I watched you and always looked to protect you, long before you asked, as if it were a covenant and my calling.
You fought the ailment that was bestowed upon you with conviction. You spoke of using your trial to serve, giving support, hope, and stewardship to others. We talked about creating a cookbook with all the flavors you loved, and I loved hearing you say, “Let’s put together a menu,” as we joked about who was the better chef. Though our taste buds didn’t always agree, we both believed we could have it all: flavor and nourishment, Flavor Town! Ha‑ha.
In your name and memory, I am building a foundation, a way to pay forward your dreams and see our shared goal through…
Each day is bittersweet, I cry, I smile, sometimes both. I walk the path you set. I call it being “Alfie Rich”, selfless service, love without expectation, grounded in faith, trusting only in God’s love.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
To anyone who joins me on this journey: when you walk beside me, know we are working toward something good, something rooted in faith, in giving, in love.
